our story
We often get asked by our customers, "Why did you decide to start crocheting?"
Ask the CEO
My journey with crochet began in one of the most unexpected and challenging chapters of my life. While hospitalized for five weeks due to complications during pregnancy, I found myself emotionally drained and struggling to stay hopeful. It was during this time that a thoughtful friend stepped in with a gesture that would forever change the course of my life. She handed me a crochet hook, 2 skeins of yarn, and told me about a call for handmade scarves for the upcoming Winter Special Olympics. That simple gift became a lifeline—not just to pass the time, but to redirect my focus toward something meaningful.
As I worked on that first project, I discovered how powerful it felt to create something with my own hands, something that could brighten someone else’s day. The scarves I crocheted might not have been perfect, but they carried my heart and hope stitched into every loop. That small act of giving sparked something much bigger: a desire to continue crafting items that brought joy to others. Crochet became more than a hobby—it was a form of therapy, a tool for connection, and a way to spread kindness one stitch at a time.
This passion eventually led me to pursue certification through the Craft Yarn Council, where I became a Certified Crochet Instructor. Going through that process deepened both my skills and my appreciation for the craft. It gave me the confidence when teaching others, sharing the same spark that was once passed on to me. Whether it's a beginner picking up a hook for the first time or someone looking for a creative outlet during a tough season, I love being part of their journey and encouraging them to keep going, stitch by stitch.
Now, I carry this mission forward by creating opportunities to connect with others through crochet. From teaching classes to offering support to fellow yarn-lovers, I see each interaction as a chance to pay it forward. The kindness that helped me through a difficult time continues to ripple outward, woven into every project, conversation, and shared moment of creativity. Crochet gave me a way to heal, grow, and give back—and it’s a gift I’ll keep passing on for as long as I can.
